Position Summary
• The Government and Industry Compliance Intern will assist the Environmental, Health, Safety, and Regulatory team in maintaining compliance with Mexican labor, occupational safety, and environmental regulations applicable to tequila production. The internship focuses on developing practical knowledge of regulatory compliance systems, documentation, inspections, and continuous improvement.
Primary Responsibilities
Labor and Occupational Safety (STPS)
• Assist in reviewing compliance with applicable Official Mexican Standards (NOM-STPS).
• Support maintenance of occupational safety documentation.
• Participate in workplace safety inspections.
• Assist with hazard identification and risk assessments.
• Help organize employee safety training records.
• Support emergency preparedness and evacuation planning.
• Assist with internal compliance audits.
• Prepare inspection checklists and corrective action tracking.
Environmental Compliance
• Assist with environmental documentation and recordkeeping.
• Support monitoring of wastewater, solid waste, and hazardous waste management.
• Help track water and energy consumption.
• Assist in organizing environmental permits and regulatory reports.
• Participate in environmental inspections and audits.
• Support sustainability improvement projects.
• Assist in documenting environmental performance indicators.
General Responsibilities
• Maintain organized regulatory documentation.
• Research new or revised regulatory requirements.
• Develop compliance matrices and tracking tools.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Prepare reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations
