Senior Consultant for International Tax Services

JA Del Rio is seeking a Senior Consultant for International Tax and Transaction Services to strengthen our up-and-coming tax consulting practice in Mexico City.
We are looking for a new member to join our team who can provide its expertise, collaborate and add value to our growing international tax team, while streamlining their career into a highly demanding and sophisticated area of consulting.

Job Description
A Senior Consultant for this specialization is a bilingual professional based in our Mexico City office that inquires, analyzes and advises on Mexican tax framework for resident and non-resident taxpayers and on international tax guidelines issued by global institutions for multiple kinds of cross-border transactions. At the same time, a Senior Consultant is a key contributor in our Tax M&A engagements, participating in tax due diligence engagements and in tax structuring for deals in mid and high markets.
Additionally, the Senior Consultant is the essential link between our experienced professionals and the rising talent in our staff, jumpstarting their career paths in a specialized consulting field.

Responsibilities
• Render key tax advisory to mid and high market clients as per the domestic tax framework in Mexico and the international tax landscape.
• Participate in tax planning and structuring engagements, including feasibility analyses for setting up a business in Mexico, repatriating profits or doing business cross-border.
• Collaborate in deals and transaction advisory (M&A), including carrying out due diligence procedures from the analysis of target companies to liaising with other advisors involved.
• Engage with rising talent in our staff, provide guidance and mentorship to our junior professionals within the ITTS team.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and technical roundtables to discuss tax matters, criterions and legal precedents issued by domestic and international courts and authorities.
• Collaborate on a daily basis with the leaders of our team, including other Partners and Directors in all our offices, and participate face-to-face with clients on selected engagements.
• Attend client meetings and present research and analysis results in a clear and concise manner.

Skills and qualifications
Required
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Law and or business-related fields.
• 4+ years of experience in tax assessment, planning or advisory.
• Proficiency in English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
• Strong technical expertise in Mexican tax provisions.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
• High enthusiasm to act as mentor to junior professionals.
Preferred
• Job experience in Big4 firms —or similar— is strongly favored.
• English certification issued in at least the last three years (B2).
• Technical expertise in international tax regulations.
