Junior Consultant for International Tax Services
JA Del Rio is seeking a Junior Consultant for International Tax and Transaction Services to strengthen our up-and-coming tax consulting practice in Mexico City.
We are looking for a new member to join our team who can provide its high energy and fresh to our growing international tax team, while kickstarting their career into a specialized area of consulting.
Job Description
A Junior Consultant for this area is a bilingual professional based in our Mexico City office that inquires, analyzes and assists in the advice on Mexican tax framework for resident and non-resident taxpayers and on international tax guidelines issued by global institutions for multiple kinds of cross-border transactions. At the same time, a Junior Consultant is a first-hand contributor in our Tax M&A engagements, participating in tax due diligence engagements and supporting in tax structuring for deals in mid and high markets.
Responsibilities
• Conduct tax research and analyze tax legislation with a focus on business transactions.
• Prepare tax presentations and documentation for transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings.
• Participate in due diligence processes, tax structuring, and tax risk assessments for clients.
• Monitor and stay up to date with tax and regulatory developments in Mexico and abroad.
• Attend client meetings and present research findings and analysis in a clear and concise manner.
• Analyze the application and interpretation of International Tax Treaties.
• Perform other routine tax advisory tasks.
Skills and qualifications
Required
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Law and or business-related fields (in-process candidates will also be considered).
• Upper-intermediate English proficiency, preferably supported by a certification.
• Proactive, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in both Spanish and English.
• Ability to conduct research, perform analysis, and solve complex problems.
Preferred
• High familiarity with Microsoft Office software.
• Basic knowledge of Mexican tax legislation and regulations (ideally with some experience in taxation).
