Job Description/Overview:
As a Monitoring and Alert Management Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the stability, performance, and availability of our applications and systems. Your primary responsibilities will involve monitoring application performance, managing incidents, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive swift resolutions. Additionally, you will contribute to continuous improvement efforts, optimize processes, and maintain documentation to support a resilient and efficient monitoring framework.
Job responsibilities:
1. Monitoring & Alert Management
• Utilize monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, or similar) to track application performance, availability, and stability.
• Investigate and escalate alerts or events to the relevant teams for swift resolution.
2. Incident Response & Troubleshooting
• Assist in diagnosing application and system issues.
• Document findings and follow up on action items to prevent recurring incidents.
3. Collaborative Support
• Work closely with IT, development, and trading teams to manage incidents and outages.
• Contribute to post-incident reviews and root-cause analyses.
4. Continuous Improvement
• Identify areas for process optimization and improvements in monitoring coverage.
• Suggest enhancements to alert thresholds, dashboards, and reporting.
5. Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain clear documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and incident response protocols.
• Compile regular reports on application performance metrics and incident trends.
6. Compliance & Best Practices
• Follow established guidelines and best practices to ensure adherence to regulatory and security requirements within the trading environment.
• Keep abreast of new monitoring technologies and industry best practices.
Job requirements:
• Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience:
o 1-3 years of experience in an IT support or monitoring role.
o Exposure to commodities or financial services environments is a plus (not required).
• Technical Skills:
o Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Grafana, Nagios, etc.).
o Basic understanding of Windows operating systems.
o Functional knowledge in AWS, SQL, Python are strong plusses
o Foundational networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, etc.) is beneficial.
• Soft Skills:
o Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
o Effective communication in both Spanish and English (written and verbal).
o Detail-oriented, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
o Team-oriented mindset and willingness to learn.
